Flash fiction reflection
For this project we were tasked with writing a flash fiction story, this is regularly regarded as a story with 1,000 words or less. Our story was based around our "leaving earth" project where we had to create a hypothetical situation and figure out how to leave earth bringing the supplies we need with us, settle on a planet, colonize it ETC. That was the basis of the overall project. For the story we had to write based around our overall plan and incorporate the science we used in our previous calculations in the story. To write it I just wrote, went with the flow and see what I came out with, I had a small idea in my head but once it was on paper I just expanded it. Most of the stuff I was already aware of such as the landing calculations, the calculations for the travel. Something that has always intrigued me though and something that is really shown in the project is how vast space actually is. We seldom realize how infinite infinite actually is. Seeing the distance to planet Eris and how long it would take to get there at certain speeds is simply incredible. My thoughts on the vastness of space could take forever to explain as space is forever. The mysteries of space, to me has always been something that drives me crazy, I have constantly thought of what could be out there. At this point in my life I try not to think to much of it because if I do I just get lost in it everything that is out there is incredible. I have decided that I will once again think fully on it when we have developed warp capabilities or any other sort of advanced propulsion systems.
